The 10th State and Community Consultation meeting is continuing its 3rd day at Jigjiga City.

Jigjiga (cakaaranews) Saturday 28th October 2017. The 10th regional state and community consultation meeting is continuing its third day at Jigjiga city.This consultation meeting led by ESRS president H.E Abdi Mohamoud Omar and ESRS parliament chairman and Ethiopian Somali People Democratic Party (ESPDP) chairman Mr. Mohamed Rashid Isaak. The consultation meeting has been discussing the general situation of the region including strengthening developmental strategies, peace and security and good governance and also 2010 fiscal year plan of the region. 

Federal level ESPDP delegates such as labor and Social affairs minister Mr. Abdifatah Sheik Abdulahi, transportation minister Mr. Ahmed Shide, Federation council deputy chairman Mr. Rashid Haji and federal government state minister Ms. Farhiya Mohamed Omar are participated this consultation meeting. The delegates emphasized the advancement of the development that exist entire region by taking the historical picture of the local community in the past and they urged the local communities to take their part in the socio-economic development that the region is implementing. They also stated to strengthen peace and security issues specially the danger of terrorism in the horn of Africa and how to prevent it.

On the other hand, the delegates noted the recent conflict between Somali and Oromo people which affected to whole community of the two regions. They pointed that they are disappointed with the conflict and the consequences of the conflict that caused displacement of a large number of the two region’s community.

Finally, the delegated encouraged the regional state to enhance the development strategies,good governance, and also peace and security of the region as well as the country.
