Newly Displaced Ethio-Somali People Arrives in Jigjiga

Jigjiga (Cakaaranews) Saturday, 18th November 2017. Starting from 15th 0f this November up to today a number of Ethio-Somali people who are newly displaced from Oromo region arrived in Jigjiga city. These newly displaced Somali people fled from several districts under Oromo regional state especially Balbalayti and Gursum after they met some life threatening and casualties having worn only their clothes and left their assets and properties due to survive.

Nevertheless, ESRS Disaster prevention and preparedness bureau officials told to the media that the bureau organized resettlement of these newly displaced Somalis at Qoloji Kebele beside providing shelter, food, and other necessary materials. They added that the registered number of the displaced people is currently reached more than 300 households while the registration of newly coming households is still ongoing at the resettlement centers.

Finally, the new displacement is come over at a time where the plan of peace and reconciliation between the two regions is forthcoming.
